The Goodwood Festival of Speed is one of our favourite events on the motorsport calendar, as it gives regular punters a great chance to see race cars and bikes spanning 60 years of motorsport, driven by some of the biggest names in the business as they make their way up Goodwood Hill.
As well as the action on the road, crowds can expect an air show, live music, and, of course, some top motorsport merchandise. Which is where we come in! Now, we will not be the only vendors in the grounds of Goodwood this weekend, so we’re going to have to be a bit crafty to get the drop on the competition. Therefore, we are offering a flat 10% discount to anyone who quotes the codeword MANSELL to us when buying. That’s all you have to do. One word, and the discount is yours.
Obviously, being a highly covert, top secret operation, this codeword should be kept under wraps. That said, if you absolutely can’t resist, I suppose that you could spread the word around if you know anyone who might be attending.

Defending MotoGP world champion Valentino Rossi has this weekend released a statement from his home in Italy with news of his condition, and his return to the world of motorcycle racing.
“Three weeks have passed since the accident and two since I was discharged from hospital, and I am very happy about how my recuperation is progressing. I am feeling a lot better and I’m starting to live a semi-normal life again, although for a completely ‘normal’ life I will have to wait until I’m back on my bike!
“I am walking with crutches and since a few days I’ve been able to put my foot to the floor. Honestly, I didn’t expect to feel this good just a few weeks after the incident, and I mean both physically and in my ‘spirit.’
“The rehabilitation is continuing as usual, both sitting in the hyperbaric chamber and with some exercises in the gym. Unfortunately my shoulder is still giving me some pain but I am working on the muscles to reduce the pain a bit. If the rehabilitation proceeds without trouble and if everything continues in this way, then my objective is to return at the Czech Grand Prix in Brno.
“I have started to leave the house and my good friends haven’t left me on my own for even a minute, although I’m not used to spending so much time in Tavullia! I miss my bike, my team and the paddock a lot and this ‘new’ sensation is pushing me to get better as quickly as possible.
“I’ll speak to you, but more importantly see you, soon.
“Ciao, Valentino Rossi.”

We know Jenson and Lewis can drive but how much do they know about the mechanical aspect of their car?
This latest viral video from McLaren and Vodafone is quite entertaining. We see Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton being left by their mechanics to put together what looks like the 2008 McLaren from a load of parts.
It’s clear Hamilton has had a bit more practice with the tools than Button, taking control of the wrench! He says he always enjoyed taking things apart…though Button clearly doesn’t have confidence that he can put things back together! I wouldn’t want to be Gary, having to test this car!
It’s great to see the chemistry between the two Brits and they seem to be genuinely happy working together.
Is there a career as a mechanic when they hang up their drivers’ overalls? We’re not so sure. Don’t give up the day job boys!
