Minichamps Jenson Button Brawn GP Brazilian Grand Prix 2009

AKA - Anatomy of a Brazilian

Okay, so it might seem a silly title, but we thought we’d make a quick blog post on Minichamps’ forthcoming 1:18 and 1:43 scale replicas of Jenson Button’s 2009 Brawn GP from last season’s Brazilian Grand Prix. The main question we have been asked is, “What’s the difference between this and the original release?”. Well, let us explain…

The most obvious aesthetic difference is, of course, the livery. For the race, the Brawn team sported two household names in South America as sponsors; Mapfre & Itaipava. For the record, Mapfre are the largest non-life insurance company in Latin America, while Itaipava produce a popular, crisp, refreshing beer in Brazil. Or so we’re told.

On the technical front, this model boasts several extra aero features on the front wing, sidepods, and barge boards, none of which were on the ’standard’ race car. Another nice little touch, is the extra sponsorship decals on Jenson Button’s helmet! Now that’s what we call atrtention to detail.

Anyhoo, the model is due into stock in both scale on Tuesday 31st August. The 1:18 will be limited to 4023 pieces, and the 1:43 version to 6333 pieces.
